Chipolopolo striker Kennedy Musonda is looking forward to helping his new club, Zesco United, win the MTN Super League following his return to Zambia.
Musonda left Power Dynamos in 2023 to join Tanzanian giants Yanga after an outstanding campaign in which he scored 11 goals in 17 matches.
He later moved to Israeli side Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayim in 2025 before joining Hapoel Nof HaGalil on a free transfer following a brief spell at the club.
Earlier this month, several MTN Super League clubs expressed interest in signing the striker, with Power Dynamos initially considered favourites to secure his signature.
However, Zesco United won the race, and the 31-year-old says nothing feels new following his return home.
“Zambia is home. I think I’ve played most of my career here. So there is nothing new, but excited to see what the season brings and what the Zambian League has to offer, and I’m also excited to join Zesco United,” he told Daily Zed in an interview.

On the team’s targets, Musonda said they want to help Zesco United return to competing in African club competitions.
“So I think we want to get Zesco back to where it belongs, and I think that is what we’re looking forward to.”
“The main objective, first of all, the club comes first, is to win the league. Nothing less than that. Then second target is at least to come out second and play some, the Confederation, but it’s to go back to playing African football.”
Individually, Musonda is also targeting the Golden Boot.
“Personally, of course, my job is to score goals, and the highest target as a striker is to be the top scorer. So I will do everything in my power, and of course, it’s not just me. I need my teammates.”
