Forest Rangers head coach Matthew Ndhlovu says the victory against Mufulira Wanderers has boosted the team’s confidence in their quest to survive relegation.

The Ndola based side broke their 11 games winless run after they defeated Mufulira Wanderers 1-0 at Shinde Stadium.

The win has pushed Forest Rangers to 35 points, one point behind Zanaco and Atletico Lusaka who are sitting above them in the Log standings.

Speaking in a post match interview, head Coach Matthew Ndhlovu said the victory has pushed the team to work extra in their remaining fixtures.

“I think it’s a good win for us. It motivates us for the two remaining games. The task at hand is still tough, so it has given us confidence we need to work extra hard in the remaining two games,”he said.

“I think we utilized the chance we had and it worked for us because the previous games we could create chances, but we couldn’t score,”added Ndhlovu.

And Ndhlovu remains confident the team will survive relegation.

“That is partly motivating enough and I think the hunger which is in Camp right now is all about Survival. I think together as a unit with the way we are moving we are capable of surviving especially if we win the remaining two games,”noted the coach.

Meanwhile, If Forest Rangers collect six points in their remaining two fixtures they will reach 41 points which gives them a chance to survive relegation if Atletico, Zanaco and Mutondo stars drop points in their remaining games.

Forest Rangers will host Red Arrows in a Week 33 fixture in their quest to boost their hopes of surviving relegation.
