Indeni Roses Football Club have suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Champions-Elect Zesco Ndola Girls in their week 32 fixture played at Indeni Sports Complex.

Friday Kabwe’s 83rd minute goal helped the visitors walk away with the bragging rights in the Ndola derby.

Roses failed to maintain their winning streak after having beaten Nkwazi Queens last week.

Speaking to the media after the match, Indeni Roses head coach Rex Chanda described the defeat as a Painful one.

“We conceded a very silly goal despite dominating play from the first whistle to the last whistle,” he said.

“It’s very painful. The plan was to stop this unbeaten run today and we played well, we were awarded a penalty which we missed. Maybe if that penalty could have been converted, maybe the attitude from the players would have changed,”added the coach.

The Indeni Roses boss further warned that his side will bounce back stronger next season.

“We have observed the departments that need reinforcements and definitely when we go off season after we play the two remaining games we will beef up the team very well so that next year we will compete for the League,”concluded the coach.

Meanwhile, the Ndola based side will need to collect maximum points in their remaining two fixtures to stand a chance of finishing the league in second position.

The Roses currently sit in second place with 70 points with only two matches left to play.
