Power Dynamos coach Oswald Mutapa is wary of the ‘new manager bounce’ in Saturday’s Super League clash against Napsa Stars, who have Tenant Chilumba as their new coach.
Last week, Napsa confirmed Chilumba as their new head coach, taking the void left by Sipho Mumbi, who was fired following a bad run of results.
Chilumba lost his opening match in charge 2–0 away to Red Arrows.
However, Mutapa sees this game as a potential banana skin.
“We are in the same league, meaning we are at par. So we don’t have to go in there with jackets; we need to get the result.
“Playing Napsa would be another tough game. They want to play for their lives in the league, and maybe the change of technical bench will motivate them.
“Yes, they lost their first game, but this game might be tough because they would want to prove something. So, another tough game, but we need to go there and get the result,” Mutapa said.
Meanwhile, Chilumba, who is a former Power Dynamos coach, anticipates a tough clash.
“It’s been a difficult week again, but of course we are ready. We know it will be a big game, one of the big games over the weekend.”
