Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) aspiring presidential candidate Adrian Kashala has refuted social media claims suggesting he received money from Napsa Stars for the transfer of Derrick Mwansa during his tenure at Nkwazi.

Kashala, former FA general secretary is accused of corrupt practices in the transfer of Derrick from Nkwazi to NAPSA Stars in 2018.

In the deal, Kashala is accused of using a personal bank account, which he claimed belonged to Nkwazi.

During his appearance on Millenium Radio’s Bola Review Show earlier this week, the former FAZ General Secretary called the allegations an attempt to manipulate and blackmail him.

“I also want to warn those who want to think that I got money from Nkwazi and Napsa. I have been monitoring those of you who want to think that you can manipulate and blackmail me. Let me hear anyone say that” Kashala said.

“We need to respect each other” – Kashala.

Kashala, a candidate in the presidential race for the leadership of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), mentioned that he played a role in helping Nkwazi Football Club retain their position in the MTN Super League.

He adds, as an established businessman, he sacrificed a lot of resources that he could ensure smooth operations at the club.

“You all know where Nkwazi was, and when I took over as general secretary, we all know where Nkwazi is today. To some extent, I help the club; I use small personal resources. I’m not just an ordinary [police] officer. I do small businesses in the background,” Kashala said.

“I’m a transporter for that matter. And also do businesses where I buy and sell secondhand vehicles. So, I think we need to respect each other,” he added.

Kashala also confirmed that he is eligible to participate in next year’s FAZ elections.

“I am past that stage of going back to division 1, division 2, and then assume to be a presidential candidate. I think we have already gathered all that. We’ve amassed that kind of experience to get there. So, add all the years that I was running football. How many years does that give you? It has been more than 5 years. Maybe to give you 10 years. So, what other experience do you look at?”

The Elective FAZ General Assembly is scheduled for March next year.
