Kabwe Warriors ‘snatch’ David Obashi from rival side, Prison Leopards

The 2024–25 season is set to begin in the second week of August with Kabwe Warriors taking on Green Eagles in the first game.

Before the 2024–2025 season, relegated Prison Leopards striker David Obashi is probably going to leave “The Correct Boys” and go with the Kabwe Warriors, a rival football team in the town.

Prison Leopards failed to survive relegation last season after they finished 17th position in the league standings.

During the 2023/24 season, he scored 7 goals and has now managed to score a total of 30 goals making him the all-time leading goal scorer for Prison Leopards in the Zambian Super League. 

The Nigerian striker joined Prison Leopards in 2020, however he later left the team to play for Tanzania’s Mbeya football Club 2021. He later returned to Prison Leopards in 2022.

He had a brilliant season during the 2020/21 campaign which saw him score 14 goals, provide 6 assists in 28 matches.

A close source to Bolanews disclosed that Obashi could be joining the Magnificent People’s team for the 2024/25 Super league season. 

The Numba Mumamba side, who finished fifth during the 2023/24 season are reinforcing their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Warriors who began the season very well missed out on continental football but will be hoping to secure achieve their African target.
