MALAWI—Zambian Super League side Green Buffaloes have agreed terms with 26-year-old Malawian striker Christopher Jacama Kumwembe from the Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in a deal that started as far back as August 4, 2023.
Kamwembe left Malawi through Chileka International Airport in Blantyre today after Buffoleas and Mukuru agreed to let him play in Zambia for a year on loan.
The player was asked to extend his contract with Wanderers in Malawi before travelling to Zambia, and as a stipulation of the deal with Buffaloes, there are no buy-out options in place.
Panganeni Ndovi, the CEO of Wanderers, confirmed the deal to BolaNews, although he was unable to provide specifics on the transfer fee.
“Sure I can confirm that Kumwembe will leave Malawi for Zambia where he will join Buffalos on a loan deal. We started talking to Buffaloes months ago but finally we have made a decision over the matter,” he said.

Kumwembe also confirmed: “I have indeed left for Zambia. Clubs have agreed and I have also agreed to terms of my contract.
“Zambia league is very competitive these days, it will be a good experience to play in Zambia and I know I will make an effort to help the team.”
However, BolaNews has established that Buffaloes will pay the Malawi club an amount of MWK30 million (around ZWK450,496) for the one year the player will be in Zambia.
Kumwembe has also agreed to terms given by Buffaloes and will be getting around MK1.7 million( ZWK 25,545).
When Buffaloes had submitted a letter to buy the player, Wanderers charged them $80 000 which the Zambia team failed to meet the demand last year.
