BolaNews understands that Mufulira Wanderers Football Club is preparing to welcome up to six new players during the January transfer window as they aim to strengthen their squad for the second round of the MTN FAZ Super League.
For the past three months, Allan Chibwe and Mukuka Mulenga have been training with the team, while Lawrence Chungu has been with the club for one month. The trio is working hard to impress head coach Tenant Chilumba and his technical bench, hoping to secure a spot on the club’s transfer list.
Currently 10th on the table with 24 points from 18 games, Wanderers are looking to add a striker from Tanzania, a striker from Congo DRC, a right-back, a central defender, a goalkeeper, and two attacking midfielders, according to sources close to the club.
Wanderers have struggled at both ends of the pitch this season, scoring just 14 goals while conceding 15. This imbalance has driven the club’s push for reinforcements, including two strikers, defensive players, and a goalkeeper.
Despite being eight points behind league leaders Zesco United, there is optimism within the Wanderers camp. With the right signings, the team believes they can mount a serious challenge for the championship in the second half of the season.
