As the year came to a close, BolaNews counts down the list of Chipolopolo stars with the most goals scored for club and country in 2024.

10. Kings Kangwa (H. Be’er Sheva): 7 goals

His move from Serbia to Israel has got him firing on all cylinders for both club and country. Also tallying seven goals for the year are Songa Chipyoka and Edward Chilufya.

9. Patson Daka (Leicester City): 7 goals

By his standards, the Copper Bullets marksman should be ranking much higher on this list.

8. Austin Muwowo (Power Dynamos): 9 goals

Muwowo has returned nine goals in 2024 for club and country, proving to be a decisive player for Power Dynamos.

7. Saddam Yusuf Phiri (Red Arrows): 10 goals

Phiri hit double figures in goals scored for club and country in the last 12 months, including a memorable hat-trick against FC Muza in January.

6. Kennedy Musonda (Young Africans): 10 goals

Netting more goals for the Chipolopolo in 2024 than any other player (4), Musonda has had a year to remember.

5. Andrew Phiri (FC MUZA): 11 goals

An unsurprising inclusion on the list, Phiri has been one of the most prolific locally-based Zambian strikers over the last couple of years.

4. Obino Chisala (Costa do Sol): 11 goals

Recently deployed as a left back for the Copper Bullets, Chisala is a proven goalscorer when playing higher up the pitch in Mozambique.

3. Clatous Chama (Young Africans): 13 goals

One of the best players in Tanzanian club football, Chama scored some exquisite goals for both Simba and Young Africans.

2. Ricky Banda (Red Arrows): 15 goals

Banda has been pivotal to Red Arrows’ trophy-laden calendar year. The Chipolopolo striker scored in five competitions in 2024: the Zambian Super League, ABSA Cup, Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield, Kagame Cup and CAF Champions League.

1. Fashion Sakala (Al Fayha): 16 goals

Sakala’s departure from the Zambian men’s national team does not appear to have affected his goal-scoring performance for Al Fayha. For the second year in a row, he is the Chipolopolo player with the most goals scored for club and country.
