The CAF Disciplinary Board has imposed a series of sanctions on the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF), the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF), as well as players and officials from both nations, following incidents that occurred during the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations final.

Senegal head coach Pape Bouna Thiaw received a five-match suspension from official CAF competitions and was fined USD 100,000 for unsporting conduct that breached CAF’s principles of fair play and integrity and brought the game into disrepute. Senegalese players Iliman Ndiaye and Ismaïla Sarr were each suspended for two CAF matches “for unsporting behaviour towards the referee.”

CAF also fined the FSF a total of USD 615,000, including USD 300,000 for the improper conduct of supporters, USD 300,000 for the unsporting conduct of players and technical staff, and USD 15,000 following cautions received by five Senegal players during the match.

On the Moroccan side, Achraf Hakimi was suspended for two CAF matches, with one match suspended for a year, while Ismaël Saibari was handed a three-match suspension and fined USD 100,000 for unsporting behaviour involving the stealing of towels during the final.

The FRMF was fined USD 315,000, including sanctions for inappropriate behaviour by ball boys, the invasion of the VAR review area by players and officials, and the use of lasers by supporters.

Meanwhile, CAF rejected a protest lodged by the FRMF against the FSF concerning alleged violations of Articles 82 and 84 of the Africa Cup of Nations regulations, bringing an end to the disciplinary proceedings linked to the final.
