Albert Kachinga has been unveiled as Kabwe Warriors FC’s new head coach on a three-month contract, with an option for review based on performance.

Kachinga replaces Numba Mumamba, who left Kabwe Warriors in January to reunite with his former club, Zanaco.

Prior to this appointment, Kachinga was with Trident FC, where his contract was terminated on March 11, 2024, following a series of disappointing results. He departed Trident after securing just one win in 17 matches.

Kachinga has previously coached Nchanga Rangers, Red Arrows, Prison Leopards, and most recently, Trident. He also made history as the first Zambian coach to qualify for the Zambia U-17 Women’s Team for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica. Additionally, he served as the head coach of the Senior Zambia Women’s National Team from 2011 to 2018.

“The team has been doing well, and I think my role here is to help them achieve their goals. We will do everything we can to push for the realization of the objectives the team set before the previous coaches departed,” Kachinga told the club’s media.

Before Kachinga’s appointment, Kabwe Warriors were being coached on an interim basis by Happy Sichokolo.

Currently, the team sits in fourth place in the league standings with 45 points from 28 matches.

Kabwe Warriors will host Lumwana Radiants next Wednesday in Super League action.
