The Zambia Women’s National Team has qualified for the WAFCON for the fifth time and third in a row after thumping Angola on Tuesday in Ndola at the near-full-to-capacity Levy Mwanawansa stadium.

After a 6-0 win in the first leg, the Copper Queens did not show mercy by opening their account as early as the 4th minute through Racheal Kundananji.

Skipper Barbra Banda made it 2-0 on the night and 8-0 on aggregate after benefiting from a Racheal Nachula assist, who had earlier missed a seater.

Thirsty for more, experienced Red Arrows midfielder Susan Banda scored a spectacular goal from her own half a minute from the restart before substitute Avell Chitundu also got onto the score sheet in the 76th minute.

The goals kept coming, with Esther Banda scoring her first goal in the national team colors through captain Banda’s assist before Kundananji rounded off the scoring with her 11th international goal of the year.

A dominant display from the home side, who for the first time were playing at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, did not give room for the visitors for a consolation goal.

The Copper Queens have now qualified for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations for the third time in a row and for the fifth time overall.

6-0 on the night and 12-0 on aggregate is how things ended in Ndola to seal qualification for the continent’s biggest competition in women’s football.

Meanwhile, Tanzania, DR Congo, Tunisia, and Ghana have also booked their tickets to the WAFCON tournament in Morocco next year.
