Hilda Magaia, a forward for Banyana Banyana, is eager to recover from her injury before the 2025 WAFCON tournament next month.

Due to an injury, Magaia was unable to play in the Three-Nations-Series matches against Zambia and Botswana.

Coach Desiree Ellis has selected the Banyana Striker for the team, but because of her medical evaluation, she will be at camp later than expected. Final squad expected on 23rd June 2025.

Magaia scored three goals during the previous WAFCON competition, and she will be hoping to repeat that feat this time around.

Magaia acknowledged in an interview with SABC Sport that her mending process had significantly improved.

“Teams Looking To Prove A Point Against Us” Magaia.

“The recovery is coming right so far. I know it is going to be a long process, but I am hoping that I will be okay by that time,” she said.

About defending the WAFCON title “It always takes teamwork to make sure that you pull a performance like that. I believe we are all capable in that squad,”

“We are well aware that most of the big teams will be looking to prove a point against us. It will not be easy for us, but we know that it’s all about hard work and putting our best foot forward,” she added.

Along with Ghana, Mali, and Tanzania, South Africa has been assigned to Group B.
