Barbara declares Copper Queens ready for the World Cup

In a Friday night international friendly play at the Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer, Barbara Banda and Rachael Kundananji contributed to the team’s 3-2 victory over Germany.

Chinese-based attacker Barbara scored the game’s first goal in the 48th minute, while Madrid CFF player Kundananji made it 2-0 for the Copper Queens in the 54th.

Lea Schuller and Alexandra Popp gave Germany a chance to tie the score in the final minute, but the Copper Queens skipper quickly responded by making it 3 to give Zambia a convincing victory.

The pair has recently faced harsh criticism from soccer fans for their apparent lack of coordination. However, in the three friendlies that the copper queens have played, they have scored a total of 7 goals.

Ahead of the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Copper Queens played their final friendly match against Germany before wrapping off their European trip.

Barbara Banda and Rachael Kundananji, speaking to FAZ media following the game, expressed delight with the team’s performance and praised them for following the coach’s directions.

“I look forward to the World Cup,”-Kundananji.

“It’s a greatest achievement, starting with a loss, a draw then a win so this determines how far we will go at the upcoming World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. We will fight hard until the end,” the Spanish striker said.

“We are ready for the World Cup,”-Barbara.
