The Copper Queens suffered yet another defeat at the 2026 FIFA Series, falling 6–1 to hosts Brazil in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Just 22 minutes into the game, Hazel Nali came off her line and handled the ball, receiving a red card for the offence. She was replaced by Chishala Mufunte.
In the 30th minute, Brazil took the lead through a free kick by Yasmim. Barbra Banda thought she had equalised, but after a VAR check, her goal was disallowed, leaving the score at 1–0 at half-time.

With a numerical advantage, Brazil continued to dominate possession in the second half. Magret Belemu failed to clear her lines, allowing Taina Maranhão to score Brazil’s second goal from close range in the 46th minute.
Barbra Banda moment
Zambia found a lifeline when Banda finally got her goal. She went on a solo run in the 50th minute, outrunning the Brazilian defenders to pull one back for the Copper Queens and make it 2–1.
Four minutes later, Brazil won a penalty after goalkeeper Mufunte fouled an attacker in the box while attempting to deny a scoring opportunity. Angelina converted from the spot to make it 3–1 in the 59th minute.

In the 76th minute, Brazil scored their fourth goal through Raissa Bahia, who was left unmarked in the box and headed home from a cross on the right wing.
The Brazilians were not done yet, as poor defending by Zambia remained evident. They extended their lead further through Kerolin, who scored in the 83rd minute to make it 5–1.
Brazil sealed their emphatic victory with a 90+6th-minute goal by Victoria Calhau via a penalty kick after Blessing Muluba was judged to have committed a foul in the box.
Zambia will face South Korea in their final match of the FIFA Series on Saturday.
