Chama strikes again for Simba, Lungu delivers for Orlando Pirates as Banda, Mutandwa and Sibeene shine overseas

Clatous Chama made it two goals in his last two matches for Simba SC, scoring the opening goal against former side Singida Black Stars during a 2-1 victory. Chama, 35, cleverly evaded his marker with a mesmerising first touch before thumping the ball into the back of the net.

In South Africa, Ghampani Lungu maintained his impeccable start to life at Orlando Pirates, setting up the winning goal as they downed Sekhukhune United 1-0 in the first leg of the MTN 8 Semifinals. His compatriot, Toaster Nsabata, watched Lungu’s delightful flick from Sekhukhune United’s bench.

After stealing the ball from an opponent on the halfway line, Barbra Banda made a stunning run on the wing before setting up Haley McCutcheon’s third-minute goal during Orlando Pride’s 1-0 victory over a dominant Washington Spirit side.

Elsewhere, Prisca Chilufya earned her second start of the season for Angel City, playing the entirety of a goalless draw with NJ/NY Gotham. Meanwhile, Racheal Kundananji was unavailable for Bay FC’s encounter vs. Houston Dash owing to injury.

In Italy, Kingstone Mutandwa made his first official appearance for Cagliari Calcio since returning from his loan at SV Ried in Austria. He was substituted in the 87th minute during a 1-0 win over Parma while Joseph Liteta was an unused sub.

Sibeene opens scoring account in Sweden, Chikola scores in Spain.

James Sibeene, who recently joined IFK Stocksund from Sporting Lusaka, netted his first goal for the Swedish club in a 4-3 defeat at Vasalund. His countryman, Robert Banda, came on as a 70th minute substitute.

In the Czech Republic, Mathews Banda was brought on in the 77th minute of Bohemians Praha’s 2-2 draw with Slavia Praha while Benson Sakala was out. David Hamansenya was an unused substitute during CD Leganes’ 1-0 win against Real Oviedo in La Liga 2.

Still in Spain, Peter Chikola scored in a preseason friendly for his new club Xerez Deportivo, who thrashed Atletico Sanluqueno 4-0. Meanwhile, Golden Mafwenta clocked 90 minutes for Naftan Novopolotsk in a 2-0 loss to Neman in the Belarusian topflight.

Mwamba makes Championship debut, Pascal Phiri, Simukonda make first-ever league appearances in Egypt

British-born midfielder of Zambian descent Alan Mwamba made his EFL Championship debut for Charlton Athletic, who beat recently demoted Premier League side West Ham 2-1. Mwamba, who has been playing for the U21s in the last few years, signed a contract extension with Charlton in December 2025.

Despite earning moves to Egypt in January, Pascal Phiri and David Simukonda had not made their league debuts until this past weekend. Phiri started for Ittihad Alexandria, a club he joined from Pyramids this summer while David Simukonda was a substitute for El Gouna, whom be signed for recently from Cleopatra Ceramica.

In Estonia, Ricky Chanda and Benjamin Chisala both started for Nomme United in a 4-1 loss to Paide in the Premium Liiga. Elsewhere, Prince Mumba started again for Al Gharraf in the Iraqi Stars League while Frankie Musonda featured in St Albans City’s matchday squad for the first time, competing in the English seventh tier.

Lubambo Musonda, Edward Chilufya and Songa Chipyoka were unavailable for 1.FC Magdeburg, Midtjylland and Hapoel Petah Tikva, respectively.
