Brazil women’s national team coach Arthur Elias has identified Zambia’s pacey attackers as the biggest threat to his side ahead of their FIFA Series encounter scheduled for Wednesday at 03:00 CAT.
The Copper Queens will be aiming to bounce back after a 4-0 defeat to Canada in their opening match of the FIFA Series being held in Cuiabá, Brazil. The hosts, meanwhile, thrashed South Korea 5-1.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, the gaffer explained that he has also identified weaknesses in the Zambian defence.
“It’s a team with very fast attackers, so we have to be careful in transitions, but we need to know how to exploit them and how to attack a team that has a back five and seeks compactness. I see some points as more vulnerable, and those are the points we trained to try to exploit with the ball,” he said.
He also hinted that he will make changes to the starting eleven that featured against South Korea.
“There should be around five or six changes compared to the starting lineup in the first game. It’s something that’s part of our process and also an adaptation to the competition’s rules, which is a FIFA international break, and now, according to the new regulations, we can make up to 11 changes depending on our opponents,” he said.
The match against Zambia will be played at Arena Pantanal in Cuiabá.
In their match against South Korea, Brazil’s goals came from Ary Borges, Kerolin, Ludmila, Dudinha, and Tainá Maranhão.
