Sitting in third position in Primeira Liga table, Porto will be taking on Arsenal who are second in the Premier league, on Wednesday night at home in the Champions League. The Gunners are going into this match on the back of losing seven-straight Champions League last-16 ties.

Arsenal could welcome back Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu from their short spells on the sidelines. The Gunners are yet to lose a league game this year, a run which has seen them peg back Liverpool to remain in touch with both the Reds and champions Manchester City.

In the last six meetings between the two clubs, Arsenal have beaten Porto three times, whereas Porto have won twice. Both teams have been excellent in front of goal in the Champions League. The Dragons scored 15 times in the group stage at an average of 2.5 goals per match. Porto’s last group game match saw them triumph 5-3 over Shakhtar Donetsk at home.

Players to Watch

Wenderson Galeno (FC Porto) – The 26 year old Brazilian midfielder is in fantastic shape this season for Porto, scoring three times and registering 4 assists for his club. He has been very instrumental in creating chances for the team’s attackers and Arsenal will be weary of his threat and positioning in the middle of the park.

Gabriel Magalhaes (Arsenal) – The 26 year old Brazilian center back has been in outstanding form for the Gunners this term. He has scored twice from corners alone in the last five games for Arsenal. He currently has 4 goals for the club this season. Arsenal’s 24 set piece goals this season is their most on record (since 2004-05 season) in a single Premier League campaign.
