The Zambia national team has continued its preparations for the upcoming international friendly against world champions Argentina, set for La Bombonera Stadium in Buenos Aires.

The Chipolopolo face the Lionel Messi-led Argentina on Wednesday at 01:15 CAT.

Leicester City forward Patson Daka, who is part of the George Lwandamina side, said preparations are going well for what he has described as a tough match.

Daka said the Chipolopolo are aiming to play with pride when they take to the pitch against a formidable side.

“Everything has been well from the time that we arrived. I think everything has been going pretty well, and the training facilities are good,” said Daka.

“Its going to be a tough game. We know they are the world champions, and we just have to give our very best. It’s football. We have to believe in ourselves and just make sure that whatever we do, we just do it with pride and make sure that we give everything at the end of the day.”

The striker also disclosed that there is stiff competition for starting places, adding that there are no guarantees for the first eleven.

“Training has been intense. Everyone is really working hard. Everyone is pushing and wants to start the game. We are pushing each other, and I think it’s great competition that’s in the team right now. I think it’s healthy. It’s what we need. It’s something that we just have to keep on because it’s helping each and every one of us to improve and to develop as a team,” he said.

Daka also said there are no permanent position holders on the national team. “We know that we need each other, and the national team is not anyone’s home. You know, today we can be here tomorrow, but we cannot be there. So we just have to make sure that we utilize every opportunity that we have when we are here, and to make sure that it’s the best experience for each one of us because there are no guarantees here. So we just have to make sure we live in the moment and give the best that we can in order to maybe to have the opportunity to come back again.”
