The DR Congo will come up against Jamaica in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff tournament at the Akron Stadium, Zapopan, Mexico on Tuesday.

Bailey Cadamarteri struck early to settle a tight play-off tournament tussle with New Caledonia as the Reggae Boyz advanced to the final, where they will face the Leopards.

The winner of the tie will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Jamaica’s head coach, Rudolph Speid, says he is expecting a tough test against the DR Congo next Tuesday.

“I thought we were aggressive, pressing and trying to win back the ball as much as possible. I think we put some smiles on our supporter’s faces, and we know that the next match will be difficult, but we’re up for the fight,” said Speid.

DR Congo head coach Sebastien Desabre says the focus is securing a spot at the global showpiece.

“We’re really fired up. We’re still on course to meet our main objective. That’s the goal we set ourselves when I took this job three-and-a-half years ago. This final will be our 13th match since our qualifying campaign began.”
