The 2023–2024 AFC Champions League opponents for Fashion Sakala and Al Fayha have been revealed.
Al Fayha secured a spot in the competition following their historic Kings Cup win in 2021–2022. It is the very first time Al-Burtuqali will be participating in Asia’s grandest football competition.
The AFC Champions League draw, which took place on Thursday at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, divided 40 teams into ten groups of four, none of which contained any teams from the same organization.
Teams were seeded into four pots for each region, and the relevant places within each group were then randomly assigned.
This was decided based on their association ranking and association-wide seeding. It was not possible to combine teams from the same association.
Sakala, who has already set the Saudi Pro League alight, will compete in the competition.
On his debut, Sakala scored a beautiful goal before providing an assist for his Al Burtuqali to secure a draw against Neymar’s Al Hilal.
Al Fayha is in Group A alongside Ahal FK, FC Pakhtakor, and Al Ain FC.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr will compete against Al Duhail, FC Istiklol, and Persepolis.
