Copper Queens striker Racheal Kundananji has responded to claims that she has recently been selfish in the national team on the field of play.

So far this season, the striker has played 18 games and scored 11 goals with two assists for her club Madrid CFF in the Spanish women’s league.

After missing the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Kundananji was recalled to the national team by coach Bruce. However, she struggled to find the back of the net in her first four matches since her return.

Kundananji finally managed to score at the just-ended Turkish Women’s Cup. The Olympian scored the third goal in Zambia’s 4-0 bashing of Uzbekistan.

Copper Queens coach Bruce Mwape expressed concern with the low scoring rate of his foreign-based players. He also noted that Kundananji had been selfish on the field of play.

A number of fans also shared the same sentiments as the coach about the Spain-based forward.

“People will always be people” -Kundananji

Meanwhile, reacting to the concerns, Kundananji has admitted that she is lacking patience when in action.

She was also quick to mention that fans will always talk but she is willing to listen to positive criticism.

“I think it’s patience that am not having,” she told BolaNews in an exclusive interview. “People will always be people. Am working on it to make sure I always enjoy the game.”

Despite the criticism, Kundananji was named best striker in the Turkish Women’s Cup, where the Copper Queens finished third.
