The Arsenal forward who recently penned a long-term contract with the Gunners after capping off last season with a strong performance is currently in Ghana on a vacation after missing out in England’s squad for the FIFA World Cup.

The English-born striker and his compatriot Callum Hudson-Odoi both of Ghanian descent were left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the Qatar World Cup.

The two were sort after by the Ghana Football Association but they could not make their mind up in time for a switch of nationality allegiance.

Varrious reports indicate, Nketiah is in Ghana to visit his family and he was received with a thunderous welcome at the Kotoka International Airport on Tuesday upon his arrival.

The Arsenal number 14 has not yet represented the Three Lions at the senior level, therefore, making him eligible for a call-up to the Black Stars if he will make up his mind to switch his nationality which could see him play for Ghana in the 2023 Africa Cup Qualifiers.

At the England national team, he has stiff competition with the likes of Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, Callum Wilson, and Marcus Rashford who were all called up to the National team for the up-and-coming World Cup in Qatar.
