Brazil were downright favorites to scoop all 3 points against Switzerland though for the majority of the game it looked like it was going to end in a 0-0 statement not until Casemiro came up with the breakthrough with a brilliantly timed first-time finish into the far corner after an assist from substitute Rodrigo in the 83rd minute.

In the first half, Brazil lacked the sharpness required to cut open a defensively compact Swiss side, many fans were left wondering how Brazil’s headline absentee Neymar would have performed if he was available but come to the end of the 90 minutes the Brazilians got the job done even without their star man.

Brazil’s 1-0 victory puts them on top of their table with six points— Switzerland are second in Group G with three points while Cameroon and Serbia who earlier drew 3-3 sit third and fourth respectively with only a point each.

The Swiss are favorites to join already-qualified Brazil in the knockout stages, though they face a tough test against Serbia in their final game while Brazil, on the other hand, faces the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon who will need a win to progress to the next round.
