Zambia has been placed in Group A for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament, which has been rescheduled for August 2025.

During the draw held on Wednesday night at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), the Chipolopolo Boys were drawn in Group A, where they will face co-hosts Kenya, Morocco, Angola, and DR Congo.

Tanzania, another co-host, has been drawn in Group B against Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic, while Uganda, Niger, Guinea, Qualifier 1, and Qualifier 2 are in Group C, and Senegal, Congo, Sudan, and Nigeria are in Group D.

Two teams must still qualify for the finals, with Algeria, Comoros, Gambia, Malawi, Egypt, South Africa, and Gabon participating in a qualification campaign to fill the slots in the Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 draws.

The CHAN, which was supposed to kick off on February 1, 2025, before being rescheduled to August, has had seven previous editions and will take place in East Africa for the first time since Rwanda hosted in 2016.

The tournament only features players who compete in their respective domestic leagues.
