Red Arrows forward Albert Kangwanda has been named the 2025/26 MTN Super League Player of the Season, beating Power Dynamos and Kenyan striker Moses Shumah to the award.

Kangwanda scored 17 goals in 33 matches across all competitions, including 12 goals in the MTN Super League and five more in the ABSA Cup. His contributions helped Red Arrows secure a second-place finish in the league and lift the ABSA Cup title.

The prolific striker edged out strong competition for the top individual accolade, capping off a memorable season in which he established himself as one of the most influential players in Zambian football.

Although Kangwanda walked away with the biggest individual award of the night, the Golden Boot went to Power Dynamos striker Moses Shumah after a remarkable league campaign. Shumah finished as the MTN Super League’s leading scorer with 21 goals and also won the Fans’ Player of the Season award.

Power Dynamos’ successful title-winning season was further recognised as head coach Osward Mutapa scooped the Coach of the Season award. The Kitwe giants also saw Frederick Mulambia named the Most Disciplined Player of the Season.

Kabwe Warriors goalkeeper Mangani Banda was voted Goalkeeper of the Season after a string of impressive performances between the posts, while FC MUZA’s Given Kalusa claimed the Young Player of the Season accolade.

Officials, club media officers honored

In the match officials’ categories, Meck Zulu was named Assistant Referee of the Season, with Charles Ng’andwe receiving the Referee of the Season award.

Jacob Kaunda’s strike against Power Dynamos earned the Goal of the Season honour, while Kansanshi Dynamos media officer Gwen Chipasula was recognised as Club Media Officer of the Season.

The award for Club Photographer of the Season went to Limbikani Mtonga of Nchanga Rangers, while Power Dynamos supporter Kennedy “Yellow Man” Chishala was voted Fan of the Season.

The awards celebrated the standout performers from a memorable 2025/26 campaign that produced intense competition, individual brilliance and another thrilling chapter in Zambian football.
