Chipolopolo Boys goalkeeper Francis Mwansa has admitted that Zambia’s remaining two games against Morocco and co-hosts Kenya at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) will be tough.

Zambia opened their campaign on a poor note, suffering a 2-0 defeat to DR Congo in their opening match.

The Avram Grant-coached side further reduced their chances of qualifying after a 2-1 loss to Angola on Sunday in their second group match.

However, despite the back-to-back defeats, Zambia still has a mathematical chance of advancing to the next stage of the competition if they beat both Morocco on Thursday and Kenya on Sunday while hoping Angola and DR Congo draw.

Speaking to BolaNews in an exclusive interview, Mwansa said he hopes the team will redeem themselves in the upcoming fixtures.

“It’s difficult for us, especially that we lost the two games, because the game against Morocco is a tough game. They will come hard at us, wanting to beat us,” he said.

“The remaining two games are not easy; Kenya are highly motivated and Morocco are a strong side. We really need to put in our best and fight for a positive result by all means. But we have hope that we will win the two matches,” noted Mwansa.
