Patson Daka and Leicester City’s performance at Anfield made Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hint at the Foxes’ return to the English Premier League.

Leicester City is currently at the top of the English Championship table with 21 points after 8 games.

After missing out on action since the start of the season, Daka was a second-half substitute for the Leicester City side that lost 1-3 to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.

The Foxes scored first through Kasey McAteer three minutes into the match but second-half goals by Cody Gakpo, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Diogo Jota secured Liverpool’s comeback win.

“With all of the quality of Leicester City, and we have to admit that as well, they are a super-coached team, they have a super set-up,” said Jurgen Klopp, in his post-match conference.

He added: “You can pretty much see, feel, and smell the confidence they have because of their situation. That made life difficult. But we kept going and improved during the game as a team, but individually as well.”

Meanwhile, Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca hailed his players despite recording a loss.

“I’m very proud of the players,” he said. “To come into this stadium against this opponent and play in the way we want to play, I think they showed they are very brave. From the start to the end, we continued in the way we wanted to play.”

With the win, Liverpool progressed to the Round of 16 of the Carabao Cup where they will take on Bournemouth.
