Already eliminated Zesco United will take on Egyptian side Al Masry in their final group stage match in the CAF Confederations Cup Campaign.
The nine-time Zambian Super League champions bowed out of the competition after losing four games in the campaign.
Last weekend, Zesco managed to record their first victory of the group stage campaign after they beat Zamalek 1-0 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Zega Mambo head into this encounter with the hope of finishing the competition on a positive note despite facing elimination.
Speaking ahead of the match, United head coach Matthews Ndhlovu believes the team has learned a lot and looks forward to staging a strong statement in the domestic league.
“I think we have come here for a mission. We are a very determined team that is looking at two challenges: the Confederation and the group stage, where we have had a bad path, are improving slowly, and have learned a lot of lessons, meaning we need a positive result as we come out here because it will give us the confidence as well as build up the momentum in the local league back in Zambia,” he said.
“We’re here for a mission” – Mkhonta.
Meanwhile, Team Captain Lindo Mkhonta says the team is not out there for vacation but for serious business.
“As Zesco United players we are more than ready for the game that we are going to play. We know very well that it’s not going to be an easy game looking at what is happening in our group, but we are ready for the game.
“We told ourselves that we are going to take each game seriously, so we have to win whether we like it or not; that’s the result that we want. Because we can’t come all the way from Zambia just for a vacation. No, we are not here for a vacation; we are here for a mission, so we are ready for the game, and we are going to do our best,” said the captain.
