It was a frantic end to a thrilling game as Francis Mwenya’s 75th minute finish was the difference at the end of the 90 minutes at the REIZ Arena on Saturday.
Nkana had a golden chance to draw level but Idris Mbombo’s effort lacked the power and precision needed to find the back of the net.
With only a few seconds left to play, Francis Debra’s header was off target as a victory for Buffaloes was all but sure.
That loss, was Mwenya Chipepo’s first following a five games unbeaten run. He is disappointed with the result.
“We missed a lot of chances, especially in the first half Buffaloes only had one chance.” He further added “We just made one chance and they converted.“

Buffaloes head coach Aggrey Chiyangi on the other hand, stated, “I told the boys to say Nkana also has their weaknesses, let’s try to capitalize on the weaknesses and make sure that we don’t give their strong man [Idriss Mbombo] any space to operate. It’s a very sweet victory“
Buffaloes are now 9th on the log following that victory, while Nkana are 10th, the Zambia Army sponsored side will now shift their attention to Zanaco while Nkana start preparing for their battle against Super League newbies Mutondo Stars.
