Confidence is high in the Power Dynamos camp as they face defending champions FC Pyramids in their final Group A match in Cairo this weekend, battling for a place in the last eight.
Power Dynamos started slow but have picked up momentum, going unbeaten in their last three games with a record of two wins and one stalemate. They now sit on seven points, level with second-placed RS Berkane, three points behind Pyramids, while Rivers are bottom with one point.
On Tuesday, Power left for Egypt with players Dominic Chanda and Ronel Manyanga, confident that they could beat the Egyptians on their own turf.
In an interview, Chanda, who is also a Chipolopolo defender, said his side is ready for a win.
“We are very much ready; we are prepared and ready to get three points. We are motivated, and we worked hard. Everyone wanted the three points and wanted the three points,” he said.
Three points will most likely take Power to the round of eight, provided Berkane drops points to Rivers.
Manyanga, who was on the scoresheet in the 2–0 win over Berkane, also said the team is ready for the challenge.
“We are ready, we will take every game as it is. We need time to prepare but obviously we have to be ready,” he said.
