There is no doubt that football is a male dominated sport and for most women playing professionally can sometimes put parenthood among other things on hold.

Super falcons and Nigerian international Francisca Ordega has revealed that she cannot wait to start having babies and have a family of her own.

Ordega has been with the Nigerian national women’s team since 2010. She’s represented at U-17 and U-20 levels before been drafted in the senior squad.

Ordega was part of the Super Falcon’s squad that reached the last 16 of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Randy Waldrum’s super falcons only conceded 2 goals at the tournament, keeping 3 clean sheets out of the 4 games they played.

The progressed to the competition’s knockout stage unbeaten, but England Women kicked them out via a penalty shootout in the Round of 16. They delivered a humdinger performance to hold finalists England to a scoreless 0-0 draw in the last 16.

Perhaps their nerves got the best of them during the penalty shootout against the 3 Lionesses, but they bowed out of the competition with their heads held high.
