The Pharaohs of Egypt will tonight face Zambia’s Chipolopolo Boys in an international friendly match at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Egypt’s national team coach Roy Vitoria and Zambia’s Avram Grant have both grouped strong sides for the matchup, with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Leicester City striker Patson Daka expected to lead their respective countries’ attacks.

Vitoria told reporters during the pre-match press conference on Wednesday that he “wished we had more time to prepare to face Zambia.”

“Zambia’s friendly will be difficult because they have improved and have good players.”

Vitoria’s side will head into tonight’s match seeking redemption following their 1-3 loss to Tunisia during last month’s international break.

Meanwhile, Egyptian striker Mahmoud Trezeguet, who plays for Turkish Süper Lig club Trabzonspor, said they are aiming to win the friendly match ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

“Spirit is the most important thing that distinguishes the Egyptian national team, and all players have the heart to fight for the country,” said the former West Ham striker. “The matches between Zambia and Algeria are strong and we seek success in this challenge.”

“Our goal is to qualify for the World Cup and we are talking to the players about a dream
Back to the World Cup again. “
