Kabwe Warriors defender Fredrick Mwimanzi says his team is preparing to win the 2024 ABSA Cup.

Warriors will take on Indeni FC in the quarterfinals on Saturday at Nkoloma Stadium.

The Kabwe Giants defeated the Lumwana Radiants in the round of 16 and advanced to the competition’s quarterfinals.

Zambia's biggest club cup competition is now down to eight teams.

Warriors lost 1-0 to the Green Buffaloes in Super League on Sunday and will look for redemption against Indeni this Saturday.

The 27-year-old told BolaNews exclusively that his team is working hard to win the tournament.

“We are preparing to come out champions, and I think that’s what’s inside me, nothing else,” he confidently said.

Mwimanzi continued: “I think everyone knows that Saturday’s encounter is not going to be easy and it will be decided in 90 minutes no extra time, I think the team is preparing well for that.”

“Current situation: winning the ABSA Cup is the top target.”

The defender joined the Warriors from the Green Buffaloes in the second round of the 2023-24 season, appearing in six games and scoring one goal.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are sixth in the league standings, having scored 38 points in 27 games.
