Red Arrows will face Power Dynamos in the 2026 ABSA Cup final, on May 9th their back-to-back final having lost 4-2 to Zesco United on penalties in the 2025 final at Levy Mwanawasa stadium.

The Airmen eliminated Chirundo United after beating them 2-0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Power Dynamos also secured their spot in the final after overcoming Mufulira Wanderers 2-1 on penalties following a goalless draw.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Chisi attributed his team’s win over Chirundu United to a positive attitude and proper execution of the game plan.

“I think it’s just about the attitude and the mindset when you are playing a team which is, I won’t say a small team, a team that is playing in the lower division, and looking at the way Chirundu have been performing, I think they are technical staff; I think they deserve credit. The boys, full of confidence, were playing at one point; you could say they were also becoming a threat at the goal.”

On facing Power Dynamos, whom they are trailing by 10 points in the MTN Super League, in the final, Mbewe described it as a ‘must win’.

“Power Dynamos enjoying good form” – Mbewe.

“I think it’s going to be a very good final, a way to watch the final, looking at the form that Power Dynamos are in and looking at what we are looking for as well as Red Arrows. So I think this is a final that we just need to prepare for and ensure that we fight and win it.”

ABSA Cup.

Red Arrows will be playing their fourth final in five seasons, and Mbewe stressed the importance of going all out and claiming the K1.1 million worthy title this year.

“It is very important for us, as it is the only cup in the country, so for us it is really important that again we fight and ensure that we grab another ABSA trophy,” Mbewe said.

“Power Dynamos are in form; they are playing good football; they are enjoying the good form. So again, also us, we had some turbulence, some setbacks, but now we are back as well in our good form, so it is going to be a very interesting final.”
