Due to an injury, Green Eagles goalkeeper Rodwell Mulungushi will miss this weekend’s 2024 ABSA Cup quarterfinal.
Green Eagles will battle it out with Red Arrows on Sunday in the round of eight of the competition at Nkoloma Stadium.
The Choma based side defeated Atletico Lusaka 2-1 to book a place in the last eight round of matches. finals. Before the injury, he kept seven clean sheets in twelve Super league matches this season.
The 25-year-old shot stopper signed a permanent contract with Green Eagles at the start of the 2023–24 season after leaving Chambishi FC, a team that had been demoted.
Mulungushi won’t be participating in the tantalizing match because he has been out since week 24 owing to a knee issue.
He feels the team possesses the quality to overcome the current league leaders despite not being on the squad.
“We just have to beat Red Arrows, last time we defeated Arrows at their home ground, so in football anything can happen,” Mulungushi told Bolanews exclusively.
The former Chambishi FC goalie is currently healing from an injury and plans to return to action following the ABSA Cup quarterfinals.
