Como produced a stunning performance to beat Manchester United, while Declan Rice scored a late equaliser for Arsenal against Bayern München. Aston Villa, Real Betis and Real Madrid also recorded their third consecutive wins on Wednesday.

Here is a roundup of the action as Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League league phase concluded.

Como 4-1 Manchester United

Nicolás Paz starred as Como delivered an outstanding attacking performance against the three-time European champions.

The Argentina international curled a superb effort inside the far post just two minutes into the match. He then set up Tasos Douvikas early in the second half, with the striker lifting his finish over Senne Lammens.

As the match approached the hour mark, Paz scored his second goal and Como’s third with an impressive solo effort. Cesc Fàbregas’ side added a fourth through Jacobo Ramón’s powerful header.

Manchester United substitute Joshua Zirkzee scored a consolation goal in added time, finishing from close range.

Bayern München 2-2 Arsenal

Harry Kane scored in his tenth consecutive Champions League appearance before Declan Rice struck late to earn Arsenal a draw in Germany.

Eberechi Eze opened the scoring with a fine finish from Martin Ødegaard’s excellent pass. However, Bayern responded when Alphonso Davies equalised after a superb assist from Kane.

Jurriën Timber’s handball resulted in a penalty, which Kane converted to take his career tally in the competition to 58 goals.

Rice then fired home with eight minutes remaining to restore parity and secure a valuable point for Arsenal.

Aston Villa 3-1 Viking

Aston Villa maintained their perfect start to the league phase with a dominant victory over Viking, recording their third win in as many matches.

Ross Barkley opened the scoring by heading in Ibrahim Mbaye’s corner, before Emiliano Buendía doubled Villa’s advantage from the penalty spot following a foul on the lively Alysson.

The Brazilian winger was again involved in Villa’s third goal, with his cross deflecting off Viking defender Henrik Heggheim’s outstretched leg and past goalkeeper Arild Østbø.

Viking reduced the deficit late in the match through Peter Christiansen’s acrobatic volley, but Unai Emery’s side held firm to prevent a dramatic comeback.

Player of the Match: John McGinn (Aston Villa)

Real Madrid 4-1 Leipzig

Real Madrid produced an impressive second-half display to maintain their perfect start with a comfortable home victory over Leipzig.

The hosts relied on two outstanding first-half saves from Thibaut Courtois before Bernardo Silva and Arda Güler scored either side of half-time.

Kylian Mbappé extended Madrid’s lead to 3-0 in the 83rd minute with an exquisite curling finish, before Tidiam Gomis pulled one back for the visitors.

Madrid soon restored their three-goal advantage, with Yan Diomande firing a volley into the top corner against his former side to seal the victory.

Lille 2-4 Galatasaray

Galatasaray secured their first points of the campaign with an impressive victory over Lille at the Stade Pierre Mauroy.

Yunus Akgün opened the scoring after just 66 seconds with a close-range finish. Lille responded a little over five minutes later when 19-year-old forward Soriba Diaoune rounded Uğurcan Çakır.

The teenager then scored again in the 39th minute, curling home to put Lille ahead.

Aleksei Batrakov restored parity with a header just before half-time, but Galatasaray took control after the break. A Nabil Bentaleb own goal and a powerful finish from Victor Osimhen against his former club secured the visitors’ victory.

Sporting CP 2-3 LASK

LASK came from behind to stun Sporting CP and claim their first Champions League victory.

The in-form Luis Suárez gave the hosts the lead from the penalty spot after five minutes, but Austrian champions LASK quickly equalised through Christoph Lang’s composed finish.

LASK then turned the match around with two clinical goals. Saša Kalajdžić struck on the counterattack before Kryštof Daněk used his quick feet and sharp finishing to extend the visitors’ advantage.

Suárez scored his second goal late in the match, but LASK held on to secure a memorable victory.

Player of the Match: Xavier Mbuyamba (LASK)

Inter 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Carlos Augusto scored a superb goal from a swift counterattack to give ten-man Inter their first victory of the campaign and deny Shakhtar Donetsk a potential first win against the Italian side.

Shakhtar enjoyed spells of control and appeared well placed to take advantage when Alessandro Bastoni was sent off with just over 20 minutes remaining.

However, substitute Henrikh Mkhitaryan delivered an excellent pass for Augusto, who finished from close range in the 77th minute.

Goalkeeper Josep Martínez then produced a crucial double save to preserve Inter’s lead and secure all three points.

Club Brugge 3-0 Lens

Club Brugge secured back-to-back Champions League victories with an impressive win over Lens.

The visitors started brightly, with Franjo Ivanović hitting the post, Yann Sommer making several important saves and Junior Kadile seeing his effort cleared off the line.

However, Hans Vanaken capitalised on a rebound to give Club Brugge the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Joaquin Seys scored at the second attempt after the break, and, following further important saves from Sommer, Carlos Forbs cut inside and calmly finished to complete the victory.

Player of the Match: Hans Vanaken (Club Brugge)

Real Betis 1-0 Feyenoord

Captain Isco proved decisive as Real Betis made it three wins from three matches on their return to the Champions League.

The former Real Madrid midfielder, a four-time winner of the competition, converted from the penalty spot to score the decisive goal. The strike also made him the first player to score in consecutive Champions League matches for Betis.

Feyenoord contributed to an entertaining encounter, with Anis Hadj Moussa posing a constant threat. However, Gjivai Zechiël missed their best opportunity when he fired over the crossbar.
