French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) recorded a convincing 3-1 away win over Israeli side Maccabi Haifa to go top of Group H and level on six points with Portuguese side Benfica who are sitting in the second position after round two ahead of Juventus and Maccabi who both have no points.

PSG conceded early in the first half with only 24 minutes played but Lionel Messi was quick to equalize for the French sides in the 37th minute before Kylian Mbappe added the second in the 69th minute with Neymar Jr putting the icing on the cake with the third goal in the 88th minute to secure victory for the visitors.

Messi’s goal made him the first player in football history to score in 18 consecutive Champions League seasons.

The Argentine and former Barcelona FC forward has now scored against teams from 18 different countries—he has scored against 39 clubs in the Champions League to break the tie with Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo who scored against 38 clubs to be the all-time top scorer in the competition with 140 goals.

Messi scored the most goals (nine) in the competition against Arsenal, and Maccabi was his 39th victim as he scored his 126th Champions League goal.

Meanwhile, French star Kylian Mbappé equaled the record of the most goals scored in the Champions League by a Paris Saint-Germain player after scoring his 30th goal last night.

At the age of 23 and in 46 appearances, Mbappé equaled the record set by Edison Cavani who achieved the feat in 54 appearances for the French Champions.
