Zimbabwe women’s team head coach Sithethelelwe Sibanda admits facing Zambia at the upcoming COSAFA tournament is a welcome challenge for her side.
Zimbabwe is in Group B alongside Zambia, Botswana, and Eswatini.
The COSAFA tournament will take in Polokwane, South Africa, from 18th February to 1st March, 2025.
Zambia comes into this competition as defending champions, while the host nation, South Africa, remains the most successful nation with seven titles.
As for Zimbabwe, they are placed among the former winners, having lifted the trophy in 2011, and will be seeking to make a strong statement during the upcoming tournament.

Reacting to the draws, Sibanda said, “This is exactly the kind of competition we want as a team. We are facing quality opponents, but that is how players grow and how teams build belief. The focus for us is to compete with courage, discipline, and pride, and to show the progress we are making as the Mighty Warriors,” she said.
The Mighty Warriors will be aiming for their second COSAFA trophy.
