Lameck banda shoots at goalon his debut against Inter milan

Chipolopolo winger Lameck Banda was on Sunday night handed his first start in the Italian serie-A and he put up a splendid performance for his U.S Leece side that earned their first point in the league after starting their 2022/23 campaign  with two loses in a row.

Banda played 73 minutes of the match which saw him make a total number of 29 touches , three crosses and three total shots on target out of which two were on target and one was blocked. He also made four successful dribbles out of five attempts , more than any one else in his team.

He was also hugely involved in the only goal for Lecce this season after sprinting from the left wing, dribbling past one defender and sweetly whipping in a pass to Brazilian international Gabriel Strefezza who made no mistake but stroke home a beautiful goal from inside the 18 yard to level the scoreline 1-1 in the 40th minute.

Lecce however, did not manage to put another ball behind the next despite enjoying enough ball possession in the second , a thing which saw both teams share spoils as the match ended one-all-draw.

It was Banda’s first goal contribution in his first start of the season in the Italian Serie-A having started from the bench in his first two matches against Inter Millan and Sassuolo.

His  brilliant performance has earned him praise from the Lecce fans who are now tipping his coach Marco Baroni to start him in their next match away to Napoli on Wednesday.
