Zambia, who have just won the 2024 COSAFA U17 Girls title, will compete in the second round.

They will wait for the winner of the first round tie between Tanzania and eSwatini.

In an interview, Kanyemba said she is ready for any team but would prefer taking on eSwatini.

“Tanzania is a team that we’ve been meeting for almost all the time, and they’re a good side. Eswatini, I haven’t seen much about them, but from the COSAFA team, at least we’ve got some videos of how they play“

“I think Tanzania are favourites to proceed to the next round, so we’re most likely to meet Tanzania, and they’re a good side,” Kanyemba said.

Should Zambia beat the winner between Tanzania and eSwatini, they will face a third round showdown against the winners of the [Congo vs. Benin] x [DR Congo vs. Niger].

“Well, from the World Cup this year that was there, Niger showed to be a weaker league. Congo, they’re also coming up in football. DRC as well. Benin haven’t heard a lot about them, so in this round, I’m not sure which one we’ll be able to meet, but whichever comes up, we’ll be able to meet them. We’ll watch their games and we’ll be able to plan for them as well,” she said.
