Zambia Under-15 head coach Aaron Kawangu has revealed that he aims to build a good foundation for the players that will face Morocco in the two friendly matches.

The Junior Chipolopolo Boys are in Casablanca ahead of their back-to-back matches against Morocco on March 22 and 25 at the Mohammed VI Complex.

Speaking after the team’s first training session in Casablanca, Kawangu stated that the friendly matches are a great preparation to introduce the players to competitive international football.

“This is a developmental setup,” he said. “We know we have to be as organized as possible for us to give ourselves a chance. We should always remember that we can’t put too much pressure on these boys.

“The most important thing is that as we play here, we don’t go back to Zambia the same way. The boys have to make this their great entry into international football,” he stated.

The coach has also given credit to the various academies grooming the players.

“I believe the clubs and academies have done very well to groom the players at the level that they are now. I can’t say we have impacted so much in the few days that we have been with them…… But we fully depend on the exposure and training that they get at the academies. All we do is just inculcate the system that we want to play on the national team,” he concluded.

The team is expected to form the backbone of the Under-17 squad that will participate in the AfCON qualifiers.
