At REIZ Arena, NAPSA Stars and 13-times Zambian champions, Nkana settled for a 1-1 draw in a Thursday midweek encounter of a Week 30 super league fixture.
Captain Harrison Chisala, got the visitors ahead in the 2nd minute. However, a minute later, Sydney Phiri, levelled matters for the home side, cutting Nkana’s celebration short.
The draw result has seen Nkana move to 13th place with 35 points, while Napsa Stars remain stuck in the relegation waters with 29 points.
Reacting to the result, NAPSA Stars’ second assistant coach Keegan Syabeene says the team needs to maintain consistency in their upcoming fixtures.
“We appreciate every point we gain, but for today we can say it’s two points lost, but the reality has set; we take the point as it has come,” he said.
“What is important is the flow of the games as they are coming, so ours is to try and continue picking up points because coming from a backdrop we have dropped four important points; we just need to maintain consistency going forward,” added Syabeene.
His counterpart, Nkana assistant coach Josphat Nkhoma is happy with the result.

“We knew it would be a very difficult game, knowing what Napsa really wanted to achieve, but equally, as Nkana, we wanted to achieve something” he said.
Napsa Stars will prepare to take a short trip to Kabwe and face Kabwe Warriors, while Nkana will host Nchanga Rangers.
