The Chipolopolo Boys have regrouped for the October international break, where they will face Egypt and Uganda in friendly matches at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium on Thursday and Tuesday, respectively.
Coach Avram Grant summoned 25 players for the two friendlies, among them Leicester City’s Patson Daka, Al Fayha’s rapid, and Sweden-based in-form winger Edward Chilufya forward Fashion Sakala.
This will be Grant’s fifth match as Chipolopolo coach, having won three of his last four with only one draw.
He will look to maintain his unbeaten run with Zambia after beating the likes of Ivory Coast 3-0 in the Africa Cup qualifiers which secured Zambia’s return to the continent’s biggest football showpiece.
Zambia will look to break their 27-year winless streak against Egypt, having last recorded a win against the Pharaohs at the 1996 African Cup of Nations tournament.
Meanwhile, Uganda and Zambia have met 36 times and the Chipolopolo boys have won 17 games, drawing six, while the Cranes have won 13 games.
