The 2023–24 CAF Champions League draws have taken place, and the matches that will determine the winner of the African championship are tantalizing.

Group A has been dubbed the “Group of Death” since it includes Mamelodi Sundowns, the champion from 2016, and TP Mazembe, a five-time champion.

Others in the Group are Pyramids Football Club, established in 2018, including Mauritanian Super League Champions FC Nouadhibou.

2022 winners Wydad Casablanca, Simba Sporting Club, Asec Mimosa are in Group B together with Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana, making the group stages for the second time.

Group C has Tunisia’s Esperance De Tunis and ES Setif of Algeria alongside Al Hilal of Sudan and Petro Atletico De Luanda of Angola.

Yanga FC to face Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

Esperance have won the CAF title four times while Es Setif have won the Inter-Club competition twice.

Al Ahly, the current champions and 11 title winners will have to get through CR Belouizdad of Algeria, Young Africans of Tanzania and Medeama SC of Ghana to inspire the win of a 12th continental title.
