According to a press statement on Monday, the Ndola-based club says it “intends to leverage on the opportunities that the summer transfer window presents by recruiting players that will enhance the team’s chances of winning the tenth Zambian Super League title and competing in the upcoming CAF Confederations Cup.”

“I wish to inform our supporters and stakeholders that Kelvin Kapumbu, Lazarous Kambole, Nathan Sinkala, Kezironi Kizito, Jesse Were, Samuel Adeyemi, Mwenya Chibwe, Francis Elimbi, Mpho Mathekgane have left the club following the expiration of their contracts. The club has also separated mutually with Collins Sikombe,” Club Chief Executive Officer Charles Kalala said.

Kalala also stated that the club attempted to retain some of the players but were unable to reach an agreement.

“We tabled improved offers to some of the players that have left the team unfortunately that could not persuade them to stay. We have already started scouting for replacements in these departments. The club will soon be making announcements of the new signings in the coming days.”

ZESCO United has also sent Pascal Phiri, Justin Mulele, and Steven Chisenga on loan to ZESCO Malaiti Rangers.

“These players remain a key part of this football club. We have taken them to Malaiti Rangers for further development and exposure. We will continue monitoring their development,” Kalala said.
