GOALKEEPER

Lawrence Mulenga (Power Dynamos): Mulenga was solid for Power Dynamos and did well to command his defense. The towering goalkeeper kept 15 clean sheets and was only breached 14 times through the campaign. Mulenga also earned a call-up to the national team following his exploits in the League.

DEFENDERS

Dieugo Apanane (Forest Rangers) – He is one of the most consistent players in the Super League. He played the most matches for Forest Rangers and was an instrumental figure in the team’s run in the first half of the season. The ability to boom forward and provide assists makes Apanane one of the best providers in the League.

Benedict Chepeshi (Red Arrows) – the right-back was by far the best Red Arrows player in the 2022/23 Super League season. His ability to find space inside the opposition half provided Arrows with more scoring opportunities and that saw him earn a call-up to the national team under Avram Grant. He was a consistent figure and played almost all the matches in the season.

Chilimba Monga (Green Buffaloes) – His provided leader and his experience brought much stability in the defense of Green Buffaloes. Chilimba was a hard nut to crack, making crucial blocks for the team in 33 matches. He was also one of the scoring defenders in the season with 5 goals. Moonga missed only one match throughout the season.

Fredrick Mwimanzi (Napsa Stars) – He formed a solid central partnership with Luka Banda and helped push Napsa Stars into the top half of the table. In 26 appearances he scored 6 goals and provided 1 assist. He is the top-scoring defender this season.

MIDFIELDERS

Collins Sikombe (Zesco United) – The attacking midfielder was an edge above the rest of his teammates at the Ndola side. He looked ever-motivated even when the team was going through a tough period as he chipped in with a pocket of goals and assists. Sikombe was Zega Mambo’s top scorer with 12 goals.

Fredrick Mulambia (Power Dynamos) – The creative and crucial goals scored by ‘Kante’ cannot go unnoticed as he propelled the team to league glory. Mulambia formed a great combination with Joshua Mutale and Owen Tembo. The trio made it easy for strikers to shine for Aba Yellow. He definitely was a creative engine.

Joshua Mutale (Power Dynamos) – The nimble-footed attacker was hugely influential in Power Dynamos’ attacking prowess. He was involved in almost half of the goals scored by Aba Yellow in the title-winning campaign.

Amity Shamende (Green Eagles) – Shamende literally carried Green Eagles on his shoulders, playing in almost all the matches in the season. He came to the rescue of the team with some goals, many times when the chips were down. He rightly emerged as the Eagles’ top scorer with 8 goals.

STRIKERS

Andy Boyeli (Power Dynamos) – Probably the most consistent player in the ended season. Having scored 7 goals for Chambishi, Boyeli showed what he can do around a competitive squad like Power Dynamos, scoring 11 goals for the team to grab the golden boot and player of the season award.

Andrew Phiri (FC MUZA) – The striker showed a lot of potential in his first season in the Super League, hitting double figures – 13 goals. His goal contribution helped MUZA qualify for the 2023 Absa Cup and CAF Confederation Cup football. He also earned a call-up to the Under-23 National team and the senior national team in the same season.
