Zanaco Football Club head coach Numba Mumamba has set his focus on stopping an in-form Konkola Blades Football Club when they meet at Sunset Stadium in a Week 25 MTN Super League encounter on Sunday.
The Bankers are coming from a 1-1 draw against Green Buffaloes on Thursday, while Konkola Blades beat Kabwe Warriors 2-1 on Wednesday.
The two sides are separated by five points as Zanaco FC sits in 5th place with 38 points as Sharp Razor occupies 8th position with 33 points.
In a pre-match interview, Mumba reveals that he is anticipating a tough match against the Chililabombwe-based side, whom they beat in the first round.
Mumba further disclosed that the match will serve as an opportunity to make amends for the points dropped in the midweek fixture.
“This is a game that we are taking seriously. Looking back after the Green Buffaloes game, where we dropped two points. I think this is the time for us to make amends by working hard in tomorrow’s game,” he stated.
“We will fight to collect all three points. Of course, it won’t be an easy game playing Konkola Blades; they are playing good football. If you look at the games that they have played recently, their form is excellent.”
The gaffer is optimistic the players will apply themselves when they finally come up against Beston Chambeshi’s side tomorrow.
“If we can replicate the attitude and the application that we have seen in training, I think by God’s grace we will come out of the pitch with the three points.”
