Nora Häuptle has quit her role as Copper Queens coach through a mutual understanding with the Zambian FA.
The Andrew Kamanga led FAZ administration appointed Häuptle as Copper Queens coach on 24 January 2025 on a three-year contract.
Before coming to Lusaka, the Swiss coach was in charge of the Black Queens of Ghana.
In a statement, Football Association of Zambia General Secretary Charles Chakatazya explained that the decision is in the interest of both parties.
“FAZ can confirm that it has reached a mutual separation agreement with its senior Women National Team coach, Nora Häuptle. After a meeting between FAZ and Häuptle’s representatives, it was agreed that in the interest of progress for both parties, they had to separate,” says Chakatazya.
“We would like to sincerely thank Häuptle for her contribution to the Zambian game and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
In her place in the interim basis, Chakatazya says assistant coach Charles Haalubono will take charge of the Copper Queens.
“Considering that we have assignments coming up in the next few weeks, we will allow the assistant coach Charles Haalubono to head the team. FAZ will in due course announce long-term arrangements,” he says.
