On Sunday during the week four encounter against Green Eagles at Heroes stadium, Perry Mutapa was surprisingly missing on the technical bench but the Napsa stars CEO, Ponga Liwewe clarified that the coach couldn’t sit on the technical bench because the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) disciplinary committee handed him a three match ban over a Match-fixing claim he made against MUZA F.C last season when the two teams met in the National Division One League.

According to the Zambia Daily mail Sports, Napsa stars were already notified by FAZ last week about the ban, this comes five months after MUZA F.C lodged a complaint with FAZ against comments made on match fixing by Mutapa.

In a letter dated February 28, 2022, addressed to FAZ and copied to both referees and league managers, MUZA F.C General Secretary Joel Kabika said the club was requesting the soccer governing body to investigate the allegations.

In the recorded Video, Mutapa after a 2-1 defeat accused match officials of being biased against visiting teams.

” Perry Mutapa had a disciplinary hearing and the committee ruled that he will not sit on the technical bench for three matches, so he is serving that ban.” Liwewe was quoted by the Zambia Daily Mail.

Mutapa is also expected to miss Saturday’s game against Power Dynamos in Kitwe and the week six fixture against MUZA F.C in Lusaka on September 28th.

Amid all this, the Napsa stars gaffer could be on his way out of the club to join Tanzanian giants, Simba F.C as earlier reported by Bola News on Monday.

Mutapa is being offered good salary of an undisclosed amount to join Simba’s technical bench as an assistant coach to the new head coach who is yet to be announced, sources close to the deal yesterday confirmed to BOLA NEWS.

Mutapa joined Napsa stars in the 2020/21 season where he helped the pensioners secure promotion to the Super League and also win the ABSA CUP for the first time in 10 years.

Before joining Napsa stars, He coached Power Dynamo and Forest Rangers and will now look to start a new journey in Tanzania with a deal almost done.
